Let’s take our magic carpet down to Africa. It’s just about 1500 and you arrive in Timbuktu to find musicians, scholars, judges, and doctors walking the streets. Many of the men are rich with gold. One of three magnificent empires in Africa during the middle ages, Timbuktu was a thriving city, complete with bountiful food and sweet water wells. Meanwhile, India boasts an army of 1000 elephants and 100,000 soldiers, with beautiful gardens in the mountainsides. And, in South America, the great Incan and Aztec empires are rich with beautiful cities, temples, but then the cities were abandoned. What happened? And why did the Mayan kings have pointed heads and crossed eyes? Join us as we unravel these history mysteries!
