The Meaning and Making of Moccasins

Think about the ways in which your shoes tell the story of where you have been and where you are going. Learn more about the history of sewn footwear through a close study of moccasins. Look closely at several pairs of moccasins to see if you can identify the materials used and discover more about the making process. Gain a deeper understanding of the history and connection to many Native American nations by working together with a museum educator to produce your own unique footwear design.
