Media Literacy: What Information Can I Trust?
Who created this message, and what do they want me to do? Media literacy is about learning how messages are created in the media and analyzing the messages directed at you by others. Class members will have opportunities to examine advertising, television programs, motion pictures, popular music, print publications, social media, and other online postings and to share their findings with the class. Those thinking kids who have created
media will be invited to share their creations as well. Media literacy is an expression of critical thinking skills that helps us know if messages are truthful and consistent with our value system.
