Logic: Building Your Thinking Toolbox

You have spent years instilling strong values in your teen. Now, it’s time to give them the tools to be able to stand up for what they believe in. Inevitably, someday, your child will be in a situation where they need to defend their opinion or ethical stand. This class will help mold your child into a keen critical thinker who understands how to analyze and give evidence for a particular premise. We will continue to finetune our skills in recognizing and avoiding important logical fallacies and common flaws in reasoning. Students will learn when it is dumb to argue, how to use the scientific method, the five rules of brainstorming, how to list reasons why you believe something, how to analyze opposing viewpoints and how to analyze evidence and sources.
