"The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page." -- Saint Augustine
This class is about seeing new places. And what good does that do? Global learning experiences help us put life into perspective. Most of us have grown up with all the comforts of the modern world and it’s easy to forget that this isn’t the case for everyone in the world. Studying about other countries, particularly those in the developing world, can be a big wakeup call and help us all put life in perspective. Global studies immerse us in cultural diversity: festivals, food, weddings, funerals, traditional dress—it’s truly amazing how many unique ways different ethnic groups and tribes choose to celebrate life and the ancient customs that dictate everyday life. Join us as we globe-trot around the world!
