Did you know that elephants can remember an injury for forty years and hold a grudge about it the whole time? This is because elephants keep journals. Students will discover what it is to keep a journal and learn how to write stories about their lives and loved ones. Students will also explore advanced word families and word ladders. Are you up for the tusk?

Ms. Anna Bonney is a student at Southern Virginia University and a teacher at the Neighborhood Creative Arts Center in piano, voice, and ukulele. She’s traveled abroad throughout her life, studying in Italy and Africa. She began to teach Spanish in a homeschool co-op, successfully teaching young students basic sentences and common words. Anna is working to publish an interactive ukulele curriculum, geared towards children of ages as young as four years old. Anna is pursuing Child Psychology and Education at Southern Virginia University.

 

Teaching style: appointments with students, journaling, peer partner learning, research projects, spelling bees
