Building the Casa Grande Community
In Building the Casa Grande Community, a ranger will lead an exploration of the community connections and resilience of the people who lived in the Sonoran Desert over a thousand years ago. By exploring the Sonoran Desert ecosystem and architectural achievements of the ancestral people, students will gain an understanding of the importance of building strong, trusting relationships in their own lives. During the program, students will play a web-of-life game and build their own web-of-resilience while engaging in mindful movement and mindfulness activities that promote self-regulation. This program can be modified for various grades and ages.
