A World of Unrest
History isn’t perfect and neither are leaders, leading to mistakes and wrongs that happened back then and that happen even today in our own lives. We will delve into the events leading up to Nat Turner’s infamous revolt, the devastating Trail of Tears, and the Mexican-American War. The reputable courage and sad destruction in the fall of the Alamo, as well as the impulsiveness and hope enticed by the Gold Rush, the integrity needed in the first opium war in China-- each of these events demonstrates the consequences of insight and integrity (and lack thereof). As we consider these events, we will gain a broader understanding of the integrity, intelligence, and empathy leaders must possess to lead.
