Vladimir Lenin, Mahatma Gandhi, Albert Einstein, Adoph Hitler, Woodrow Wilson, Archduke Ferdinand, the Romanovs and Rasputin- what an assortment of strong personalities with an array of motives and backgrounds! Together we will travel through these decades of tumult, pain, courage, hope, and tragedy. The Depression and the New Deal, Hoovervilles and Pearl Harbor, the atomic bomb and the formation of the United Nations, Communism and Fascism. Each week, we will explore the famous and infamous, the causes and effects of events, and the great strength of humankind that rises above all darkness and fear.
