The Post-War World
Innovation and progress infuse the post-war years, as well as struggles for power and equality for all. WWII left some countries divided, leading to more changes in leadership. We will acquaint ourselves with Evita and Juan Peron of Argentina, Ho Chi Minh of Vietnam, John F. Kennedy of the U.S., and Nikita Khrushchev and Leonid Brezhnev of the U.S.S.R. The Space Race, Cold War, and the Civil Rights movement will lead to discussions and debates. Once again, we will focus on types of government, the art of diplomacy, heroes and heroines, and important steps towards equality for all.
