What is syntax? Syntax is a set of linguistic rules that makes up the bones of language. Understanding syntax lets writers manipulate language to hook readers, whether they are writing an intriguing short story or a serious persuasive composition. Students will dive into sentences, discovering how each part serves a purpose and provides meaning. Mastery comes from understanding, and understanding writing starts with the sentence. Students will also study sentence types, grammar, and Greek and Latin roots.
