From America to Europe to Latin America, new ways of thinking are leading to a rearrangement of power. Napoleon Bonaparte, James Cook, Marie Antoinette, Angelica Schuyler, Ludwig van Beethoven, George Washington, Aaron Burr, Andrew Jackson, George III, Benjamin Franklin, and Amadeus Mozart are just some of the great people you will meet during this dynamic history class. At the same time, dramatic changes in the human experience are triggered by the Industrial Revolution, a result of inventions, including the steam engine, spinning jenny, cotton gin, power loom, assembly line, sewing machine and flying shuttle. Together, we will explore, discuss, and debate the Age of Enlightenment, the Industrial Revolution, and the political revolutions and rebellions that exploded throughout the world.
