Make an Egyptian Cartouche
Ancient Egyptians wrote the name of pharaohs and other royal people in hieroglyphs inside an oval with a horizontal line at one end. This special way of writing names is called a cartouche (pronounced car – toosh). Take a close look at a pharaoh’s cartouche on the Sphinx located in the Penn Museum, then create your own version, with your royal name on display for all to see!
