EMPIRES, REBELLIONS, AND THE NEW WORLD
Are you ready to trek alongside explorers through the Great Roman Empire, the Netherlands, Spain, the Americas, the Middle East, and Japan? Together, we are going to study explorers and leaders -- the good, the bad, and the ugly, and governments --those that worked and those that didn’t. Along with new lands came new questions, including how to treat the natives of new lands and how much treasure to take away. Meanwhile, at home in Europe, there was growing distrust between the Catholics and the Protestants, causing all sorts of problems. We will learn about a boy that had three Kings in his family, and a queen that beheaded her sister. Who needs soap operas when you have all this history?
