BLACK PLAGUE TO COVID-19: A HISTORY OF PANDEMICS | TUESDAYS AT 3:30 PM EDT
Is your child asking questions about COVID-19? Help them understand pandemics as they participate in stimulating discussions and guided research, ultimately presenting their findings to classmates. We have records of pandemics dating back to 430 BC. What causes them? How can they be stopped? How do they affect society? What can we do to prevent them? Give your child the opportunity to survey six of the most disastrous pandemics in all of world history, thus gaining a greater understanding of the intense danger and destruction of widespread disease. Your child will walk away with practical hands-on knowledge, as well as a richer scientific understanding of bacteria and virology.
Materials Needed: Bacteria Growing Kit. Materials are essential for first day of class!
